Professional Group

program focus - Youth advocacy

 

Vasily Andreyev – Mr. Andreyev is a Methodologist and Coordinator of the children’s and youth movement at the Center of Children’s Creativity.  The Center provides social and educational programs for youth, provides assistance to invalid children, and organizes youth leadership centers. 

                       

Elena Baskakova – Ms. Baskakova is the Deputy Head of the Youth Committee of the Administration of Ezhvinskiy in the District of Syktyvkar.  The main responsibilities of the Committee are to coordinate the work of the various divisions of the Administration and various organizations that are involved with youth policy and activities. 

 

Alexey Frolov – Mr. Frolov is the President of “Vivid Pedagogics” and serves as the primary representative of the organization at public events and activities.  The youth organization “Vivid Pedagogics” provides many different services including social and pedagogical work with village children, substance abuse prevention among youth, the preservation and popularization of national traditions, and the development of modern Russian literature in the Komi Republic. 

 

Maxim Ganov – Mr. Ganov is the Head of the Youth Committee of the Administration of Ust-Vymskiy.  In this capacity, he supports public youth organizations and promotes a healthy lifestyle and law-abiding behavior among youth.  The Committee executes youth policy in the District of Ust-Vymskiy and its main goal is to support and develop public initiatives for young people, as well as defend the interests of young citizens in the district. 

 

Rodion Korobeynikov - Mr. Korobeinikov is the Deputy Head of the Youth Committee of the Komi Republic.  The Committee is an executive body of the Komi Republic that coordinates youth policy and the work with youth of various state agencies. 

 

Valentina Lyakh – Ms. Lyakh is the Editor in Chief of the youth newspaper “Your Parallel.” The newspaper’s reporters provide information to support youth movements and initiatives, as well as help prevent substance abuse among youth.  

 

Julia Manaenkova – Ms. Manaenkova is the Chief Consultant at the Department of Culture, Sport and Youth of the Administration of Usinsk.  The Department provides opportunities for young people to actively participate in the social, economic, political and cultural life of their community through the implementation of youth programs and other organized events. 

 

Galina Seliverstova – Ms. Seliverstova has worked in the Administration of Pechora since 1997 and has served as the Head of the Youth Committee since 2001.  The main objective of the Committee is to carry out the government’s youth policy, while also organizing festivals, competitions, conferences, and creative classes for youth.  In addition, the committee organizes preventive measures against child neglect and encourages the development of a healthy lifestyle through its special program, “Healthy Generation.” 

 

Marina Sivkova – Ms. Sivkova is the Director of the Center of Extended Education for Children, “Joy” that provides educational services through artistic, patriotic, physical, cultural, social, and pedagogical programs. 

 

Oleg Yelfimov – Mr. Yelfimov is a Chief Consultant at the Youth Committee of the Culture Department that coordinates the activity of governmental entities developing and executing youth policy in the city.  The Committee’s objective is to engage young people to participate in the social, economic, political and cultural life of the city.  It also conducts preventative work in areas such as child neglect and law enforcement among youth through programs that promote healthy and drug-free lifestyles.

Nizhny Novgorod, Russia

Galina Altukhova, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Semenov Bulletin. The Semenov Bulletin has provided socio-political news and information to the 53,000 residents of the Semenov district of the Nizhny Novgorod oblast for the past 72 years. The Semenov Bulletin is the only printed media in the district and has a staff of 16 employees.

Vadim Andryukhin, First Deputy Editor-in-Chief, New Business. The New Business newspaper provides informational and advertising services to individuals and legal entities via subscription, retail sale and free distribution among major advertisers. The newspaper has a staff of 45 employees.

Elena Belyaeva, Editor-in-Chief, Nizhny Novgorod Land. Nizhny Novgorod Land is a socio-political newspaper whose target audience are readers in the rural areas, small towns and settlements, but is also distributed in the oblast centers like Nizhny Novgorod, Arzamas and Sarov. The newspaper also publishes a specialized edition called Sad-Palisad (Garden and Palisade) for gardeners and farmers.

Tatiana Metelkina, Editor-in-Chief, Nizhny Novgorod Pravda. Nizhny Novgorod Pravda is a government run newspaper with 68 employees.

Natalya Mikhaylova, Executive Secretary, Arzamas Pravda & Head of Advertising Department, Friday. For Women. Arzamas Pravda is the oldest newspaper in the city, district, and the southern part of the oblast focusing on socio-political issues for the past 87 years.  Friday. For Women is a women's weekly publication of the NGO "Arzamas City union of Women," in publication since 1998. 

Alexander Raynich, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Nizhny Novgorod News. Nizhny Novgorod News is a daily newspaper covering the activities and events of official government bodies in the oblast and country. In addition, the newspaper’s Tuesday edition includes a business supplement and the Wednesday edition includes a supplement on legislative acts adopted in the oblast.

Ekaterina Sizova, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Dzerzhinskoye Vremya. Dzerzhinskoye Vremya (Dzerzhinsk Time), is a newspaper that provides information about political, economic, social and cultural events occurring in the city of Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod oblast and Russia.   

Elena Terekhova, Director of Advertising, Exchange Plus. Exchange Plus is an information and advertising agency with 200 employees and publishes eight periodicals: Exchange, Exchange Plus Finances, The Trading Row, Exchange Plus Auto, Exchange Plus My Home, Exchange Plus Career, Vedomosti (Nizhny Novgorod edition), and Internet-Pilot. In addition to publishing, the company designs and implements advertising campaigns for clients in various mass media channels.     

Irina Zaykina, Director, Vodemosti Project - Exchange Plus. The Vedomosti Project at the Exchange Plus Agency provides clients with a subscription to the daily business newspaper Vedomosti delivered via the courier service of the publishing agency.

Larisa Zhivotovskaya, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Exchange Plus CareerExchange Plus Career is a weekly newspaper that has been operating in the Nizhny Novgorod media market since 1991 and covers the oblast markets of labor and education, and also identifies job opportunities in Russia and abroad.

Program Focus - Small & medium enterprise development

 

Ms. Irina Entina, Director , Junior Achievement Regional Center. Junior Achievement Regional Center is a non-profit organization that serves to spread economical education.  It strives to help youths develop their economical thinking and problem solving skills that they can use in their lives as consumers and entrepreneurs.  The organization conducts city competitions, seminars and trainings at various schools, and camps for newly graduated youth on business and enterprise principles.  It also disseminates textbooks on economics and business. 

 

Mr. Kashek Samenov, Deputy Manager , Akmola Oblast Administration of Economics and Small Business Development . Akmola Oblast Administration of Economics and Small Business Development is a territorial governmental body for the development of social and economic policy that fosters the support of small business.  It coordinates the work of local governments for the goal of setting up small business centers, analyzing financial conditions, and recommending policies. 

Ms. Kulzhamal Zhandalinova, Chairman , Business Initiative . Business Initiative was created on August 7, 2001 with the aim of promoting the development of private enterprise, small-scale business and improvement of business practices in the Republic of Kazakhstan.  It achieves this goal by organizing trainings, seminars, schools on economic education and business for people wishing to start their own businesses. 

 

Ms. Lyudmila Mirgalimova, Manager , Akloma branch office of Kazkommertsbank . Kazkommertsbank is an open joint-stock company that provides a variety of bank services including crediting for legal and private entities, deposit operations, maintenance of clients’ accounts, calculation service, administration of guarantees, payment cards, and currency operations.  Ms. Mirgalimova is the manager of the section of small-scale business crediting of the Department on Clients of the Akmola branch office.

 

Ms. Madina Buranbayeva, Deputy Director , Business Initiatives’ Center . The Business Initiatives’ Center organizes and conducts marketing research in Kazakhstan.  It consults Kazakhstani companies in foreign economic activities and helps to promote goods and services and brands in Kazakhstani and foreign markets.  The center organizes economic missions, exhibitions, presentations, seminars, PR events and a package of services to Kazakhstani and foreign enterprises such as visa support, accommodations, transfers, and all other things connected with business trips.  The center also studies management processes of companies and offers anti-crisis programs of development. 

 

Ms. Gulmira Omarova, Chief of Division , Tax Committee of the City of Astana. The Tax Committee of Astana is a state institution empowered to accomplish certain functions of state management and to control the sphere of providing state revenues.  It seeks to make sure that all taxes and obligatory fees are paid in budget and that all pension fees are transferred to the accumulating pension funds in its field of work. The institution is also responsible for requiring that tax obligations are carried out.

 

Ms. Raikhana Bakirova, Chairman , Astana Affiliate Association of Kazakhstani Businesswomen. The Association of Kazakhstani Businesswomen protects rights and provides help in business activities of members of the association.  It provides job placement for women who are currently unemployed by stimulating professional development and promoting Association members and women interested in working as entrepreneurs.  The organization also participates and organizes round table discussions and conferences in cooperation with other public associations, parties, and government authorities on current social-economical and political issues regarding women in political leadership. 

 

Ms. Sholpan Aitkazina, Lawyer, Deputy to the Executive , Astana Association of Entrepreneurs’ Rights’ Protection . The Astana Association of Entrepreneurs’ Rights’ Protection is a non-commercial, non-governmental organization that provides social protection of rights, representation, and promotion for subjects of small-scale business interests in Astana.  It provides legal services, accounting services, and consulting services for entrepreneurs.

 

Mr. Talgat Andabayev, Chief of Investment Policy, Akmola Oblast Dept of Economics And Small Business Development . In accordance with the decrees of the President of Kazakhstan and the resolutions of the government, the Department of Economics and Small Business Development supports small business in the Akmola region.  This includes planning regional programs for the development and support of small businesses and providing funding for small businesses.

Tatiana Guryeva, General Director of New Holland.  New Holland is a bar located in the historical center of St. Petersburg, Russia.  The bar serves beverages, salads, sandwiches and some hot food.  New Holland has a pleasant atmosphere, with décor that Tatiana and her husband have collected from their travels around the world.   As General Director, Tatiana is in charge of staff management, sales, customer service, research and development, and oversees the functioning of the restaurant.  Tatiana is 51 years old, married, and has one grown son that is 28 years old.  In her free time Tatiana enjoys gardening.  

 

Andrei Ialovski, Managing Director of Trio-Alliance, Ltd.  Trio-Alliance specializes in the distribution of packaging materials on the Russian market.  The company has four departments, sales, logistics, finance, and a managerial department.   There is a staff of nine people at Trio-Alliance.  Within the next two years Trio-Alliance would like to double their sales and enlarge their range of goods.  As Managing Director Mr. Ialovski oversees the sales and logistics departments.  He is also responsible for purchasing.  The major problems that he faces are getting new customers and staff management.  Andrei is 27 years old.  In his spare time he enjoys motor races, music, and meeting new people.  While in the US, Andrei wants to experience the American way of life.                    

 

Igor Kabanov, Director of General Robotics, Ltd.  Igor started his business in 1997 and by 1999 the business had gradually developed from simple DB development to IT management.  In 1999, he incorporated his own company under the name General Robotics.  Their annual revenue has grown from $600 in 1997 to $12,500 in 2002.  Igor deals with the day-to-day management of the company.  He also works on marketing, sales, and administrative functions.  On certain projects he integrates himself into his client’s staff as the top manager on a project.  Igor is 30 years old and enjoys writing and singing.   

Yaroslav Mukhanov, General Director of Sport-Lux Company.  Sport-Lux is an enterprise engaged in wholesale and retail sales of sports equipment, clothes and footwear, as well as fishing equipment.  They provide services such as stringing tennis rackets and putting bindings on skis.  They primarily service the St. Petersburg region and have been in business for 10 years.   As Director General, Yaroslav responsibilities include administering the company and supervising the finances, marketing and public relations.  He has four people that report to him including the accountant, Commercial Director, and 2 heads of departments.  Yaroslav is 31 years old, married and has a 5-year-old son.  In his free time he enjoys sports and driving.         

 

Mikhail Nikolaev, Executive Director of Academic Medical Services.  Academic Medical Services was established in 1992 to treat posttraumatic stress disorders.  Since then it was expanded and now treats individuals who abuse alcohol and drugs.  It is also a place where Russians can seek treatment for stress that they encounter that is brought on by the dramatic changes that have happened in Russia.   As Executive Director, Mikhail has 21 employees that report directly to him.  He has implemented a training program for telephone operators, make solid connections with the press, and created a website.  Mikhail is 48 years old and has two children a son and a daughter.  In his spare time he enjoys listening to music (especially the Beatles) and reading.

Kira Nouiskova, General Manager of Staff Online.  Staff Online was founded in 2000, and specializes in Staff Recruitment and Selection.  Staff Online is a member of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce & Industry.  Within the next 2-5 years Staff Online hopes to have 200 clients, an international reach, and an increase in departments.  As General Manager Kira does administrative work, marketing and PR, promotion of services, and works directly with clients.  Kira is 32 years old and enjoys going to museums and the theater, and she is also interested in languages.  

     

Serguei Potchin, General Manager of the TV Company Teleinvest.   Teleinvest produces documentary films, TV programs for other TV stations, TV advertisements, and PR campaigns for politicians.  They provide programming for the local, regional, national, and international market.  Teleinvest was created in 1999 and it is forecasted to have a revenue of $330,000 in 2003.  As General Manager, Serguei is in charge of the firm’s 3 Department Managers, this includes the Manager, The Deputy of General Manager, and the chief accountant.  Serguei is 50 years old, married and has two daughters.  In his free time he enjoys sports, theater and traveling.             

      

Artem Skirda, General Manager of EXCLUSIVE Design Company.  Exclusive Design Company provides Internet services, web design, Internet consulting, e-commerce systems, software development and Internet hosting.  The company began in the northwest region of Russia and is working on expanding to all of Russia.  As General Manager, Artem is responsible for the overall management of the company.  His biggest challenges are the organizational structure, personnel drain, strong competition, finding new clients, and increasing sales.  Within the next couple of years he hopes to grow his business and increase sales.   Artem is 24 years old.  In his spare time he enjoys sports, music, going to the theater, reading, and surfing the Internet.      

 

Irina Ustyumenko, General Director of PaRi, LLC.  PaRi, LLC is a company that does Public Relations and Advertising in mass media by organizing and planning AD campaigns.  They also organize press conferences, round tables, make presentations, and grand openings.  As General Director, Irina is responsible for payroll, career counseling, and human resources.  She also works in management, conducts client searches, oversees finance management, business planning, and supervises seven employees.  Irina is 39 years old, married and has one daughter.  In her free time Irina enjoys skiing, sewing, reading and swimming.

Vinnytsya, Ukraine

Program Focus - Print Media

 

 

Tetyana Redko, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Youth Newspaper of Vinnychchyna.  The Youth Newspaper of Vinnychchyna is the first independent regional newspaper and has the largest circulation in the area.  The goal of the paper is to develop democracy, protect Ukrainian citizens’ rights, discuss corruption, bribes, and social inequality.

Tetyana Kotyk, Editor, “Prybuzhzhya News.”  This social-political newspaper is published twice a week with a circulation of 6,000 issues.  The goal of the paper is to provide residents with freedom of speech and expression, and it reports of political, economic, social, cultural, regional, and world news.  This is also the only regional newspaper the earns a profit due to circulation.

Oleksandr Mizakivskyy, Personal Correspondent,  “Army of Ukraine” newspaper.  This newspaper belongs to the Western Operational Headquarters of Ukrainian Army Forces, which was founded by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.  The paper is distributed in military units and is sold in twelve regions of Ukraine.

Artem Flyazhnikov, Deputy Editor-in-chief, “RIA” (regional business weekly) and radio announcer at “Europe FM.”  Media corporation “RIA” produces newspapers, radio, and television spots in several regions of Ukraine.  The goal of “RIA” is to inform Ukrainians about all events in an objective and independent manner.   

Yuriy Kovch, Editor-in-Chief,  “Labor Herald.”  This regional newspaper efficiently and objectively informs citizens about regional life, important events, and official information about the activities of local authorities.  The circulation of the paper is 6,000 issues and is published twice a week by a staff of ten people.

Viktor Melnyk, Head of the Department, “Vinnytsya News.”  This is a newspaper with a political character, and is under the control of the region’s National Democratic Party.  However, only part of the newspaper’s material is devoted to party activities.

Stanislav Prylypko, Deputy Editor-in-Chief,  “Tulchynskyy Land.”  This regional newspaper as founded through efforts of the editorial staff and local authorities.  The goal of the paper is to satisfy the informational needs of the region’s citizens by strictly dealing with local issues. 

Taisiya Oliynyk, Journalist,  “Vinnytsya FM.”  This company covers city and regional news, highlights interesting personalities, and covers political events.  The paper appeals to a wide range of readers and has a circulation of 8,000 issues.  

Inna Medvedyeva, Personal Correspondent, “Vinnychchyna.”  This newspaper has a circulation of 30,000 issues and is published 3 times per week.  The goal of this paper is to inform its readers about the affairs of local authorities and to provide a full picture of events going on in the region.

Maryan Stanovych, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, “Podoliya.”  This regional newspaper is published four times per week and has a circulation of 30,000 issues.  The editorial staff and the regional executive committee founded the paper in 1991.  The goal of the paper is to provide people with truthful and objective information about the region, the country, and the world.

Program Focus - Youth Advocacy

Varvara Ajiglova, Chief Expert, Ministry of Youth Affairs. the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Sakha is part of the executive government. The Ministry is responsible for giving organizational and methodological help to regional and city establishments of youth and public structures.

Oleg Borisov, Department Head, Department of Youth Affairs, Magadanskaya Administration. The Department of Youth Affairs was established to develop and implement the state policy on youth in the region. They conduct sociological research on youth problems and organize youth recreational activities. 

Elena Borisova, Committee Head, Committee of Youth Affairs, Magadan City Administration. This Committee was established to develop and implement the state policy on youth in the city. The Committee is responsible for the creation of favorable conditions for comprehensive development of young personality, realization of creative potential in youth, and facilitation to social, legal, and economic protection of youth. 

Vladimir Moulioukine, Chairman, Magadan Regional Pioneer Organization. The Magadan Pioneer Organization is an amateur self-governing non-political public organization, which operates in the interests of children. They seek to understand children's interests.

Valentina Pavlova, Commander, Student Pedagogical Brigade UNIKUM. The Student Pedagogical Brigade UNIKUM is a scientific-educational organization which organizes leisure and cultural activities for children and adolescents of Magadan that encourages young people to show their own initiatives. 

Tatiana Savchenko, Pedagogical Faculty Deputy Dean, Northern International University. The Pedagogical Faculty trains specialists in the areas of Elementary School Teaching and Pedagogy and Psychology Teaching.  The faculty also conducts educational work with students.

Galina Tkatchenko, Chief Physician, Regional Narcological Dispensary. The Regional Narcological Dispensary is a public healthcare institution that provides services on alcoholism and drug addition treatment, clinical examination, and rehabilitation. It specializes in prevention of alcohol and drug abuse among children and adolescents. 

Sergey Vologzhin, Deputy Principal on Educative Work, High School #33. High School #33 is a state government institution of general education that provides educational services to children ages 6-18.

Kaliningrad, Russia

Program Focus - Tourism Development

Irina Eidelman, Deputy Director, History-Art Museum. The Kaliningrad Regional Museum of History and Arts is the only museum of its kind in Kaliningrad.  It houses over 100,000 documents, photographs and other archeologically and historically important Russian artifacts.

Galina Glysman, Director, Guest House Pansion. The Pansion Guest House provides housing for 6 guests. They provide additional services such as transportation and laundry. The guesthouse is currently being expanded to accommodate 14 guests with future plans to enlarge the complex to a hotel complex for 30 guests with restaurant.  

Natalia Gontcharova, Administrator, Café Katrin. Café Katrin is a cafeteria-style restaurant that caters to tourists as it is along the main tourist. At the restaurant, tourists can obtain historic and tourist information about the region. Her organization was begun in 1993 and currently has 10 employees. The long-term goal is to open a hotel next to the cafeteria.       

Svetlana Khromova, Director, Our Town (Tourism Development NGO). This association works to create an attractive image of Kaliningrad as a center of tourism, through the organization of exhibitions, contests and seminars. The association also runs the Center of Tourist Information – “Our City”.      

Galina Krivdina, Director, Agrotour. Agrotour promotes rural tourism in the Kaliningrad region to domestic and foreign markets. The organization has a staff of 15.

Galina Maximchuk, President, Kaliningrad Regional Public Ecological Fund - Green Planet. Green Planet is an NGO that provides rural and ecological tourism including organization of trips and development of routes. They also provide educational ecological programs.        

Andrious Moliouolis, Manager of Tourism, Rus-Service Tour Agency. Rus-Service provides bus tours of the Kaliningrad region for both foreign and domestic groups. It arranges both individual and group programs including visa services and hotel accommodations.

Natalia Norkene, Manager, Intourist - Kaliningrad. Intourist – Kaliningrad was established in 1990 when the region opened to tourists. The company has 16 employees and is involved in both incoming and outgoing tourism. Intourist works mostly with tourists from Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Italy.            

Andrei Psarev, Director, Sinigla Travel Agency. Sinilga was founded in 2000 as a tourist agency, which provided recreation and rehabilitation to sailors returning from the sea. Since its founding it has expanded its scope to offer a wide range of services including sending tourists to Kaliningrad region, Lithuania and Poland. In the next few years they hope to expand further with the building of a complex of guesthouses and a museum.

Natalia Shimakovaskaya, Deputy Director, Oniks-Tour Travel Agency. Onix Tour was founded over 8 years ago. It specializes in the organization of children’s recreation and tourism, including summer camps and children’s art festivals. They are also involved in business tourism and domestic and international tourism.

Svetlana Sivkova, Director, World Ocean Museum. Museum of World Ocean was founded in 1990 and employs about 125 people in addition to hundreds of volunteers. The museum organizes expositions and exhibitions for students studying geography, biology, sea navigation and other disciplines related to the sea.  They welcome and handle tourists groups. They also organize recreation programs.

Pavlo Belchenko, Director of Educational Test Center.  This center was established in 2000 and has seven employees.  The center provides training for students who will be taking the GMAT and TOEFL. Internship Host: Boston Language Institute & Thoreau Language Institute

 

Oleh Betsel, Head of Operations at First Ukrainian Bank, Odessa Branch.  This bank was founded in 1991 and there are sixty-five employees at the Odessa branch.  He is directly responsible for international money transfers, exchanging and controlling bank payments, customer service and monitoring all documentation that flows in and out of his department. Internship Host: Eastern Bank

 

Maryna Bryzytska, General Manager at Formag-Air Ltd, a small Ukrainian company that specializes in freight forwarding.  The company was established in 2000 with offices in Odessa and Kyiv.  Their clients are worldwide.  The services that her company offers consist of transportation of all kinds of shipments, hazardous wastes and materials and chartering of flights. Internship Host: Adcom Worldwide

 

Natalya Dovydenko, Head Manager at Odessa Language Study Center that provides educational services in the form of English lessons.  The center has 48 employees and over 300 students.  She is chiefly responsible for managing her staff of 15 people, conducts meetings with parents, financial administration, planning summer language camps for the students and curriculum development. Internship Host: Boston Language Institute

 

Tetyana Kalinkina, Executive Director at Art & Market.  This company is directly involved in advertisement.  They design slogans, logos and outdoor ads.  There are 25 employees and seven departments. She is responsible for coordinating the work of all seven departments, public relations, management and developing and maintaining customer relationships. Internship Host: Polese Clancy

 

Olga Podgayetska, Owner of Private Dental Surgery.  This dental clinic provides services such as dental cleanings, fillings, root canals and fixing bridges.
