At WorldBoston, international exchange usually involves visitors, but in this case, it involves books! Whether your New Year’s resolution is to read more, or you’re getting an early start on spring cleaning, join us during our International Affairs Book Swap on January 24th.
This special Chat & Chowder features our usual refreshments, beverages, and lots of networking and book “shopping” with other internationally-minded nerds, oops, we mean community members. Come for the books, the fun, or both. (And admit it, you probably have a ton of books.)
All excess books will be donated to More Than Words, a nonprofit social enterprise that empowers young adults who are in the foster care system, court-involved, homeless, or out of school to take charge of their lives by taking charge of a business.
Participants should bring at least one and no more than six books about any topic in international affairs. We ask that all books be in good condition and published within the past ten years.
GET INVOLVED!
What’s your shtick on your used I.R. book? In 90 seconds or less can you pitch it? (Both serious and light takes welcome: Thrills of The Thucydides Trap? That Kooky Kissinger?)
Then sign up to slam at our upcoming Book Swap! Whether you’re chosen for an open mic spot or not, you’ll received a signed copy of Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s recent bestseller, The Avoidable War.
