Join us for an hour of music and lively conversation featuring Arturo Riera and his wife, Yajaira Echeverría. The pair will play violin and various percussion instruments, specifically the flamenco cajón, as they perform traditional Venezuelan musical pieces.

Arturo Riera is the founder of Pasitos Sinfónicos, a music academy that offers new ways to learn music for children and families, including music stimulation for pregnant mothers and babies as well as instrument instruction for children. Arturo has played percussion with Lara Symphonic Orchestra and as a soloist with Coro Symphonic Orchestra. He has a Master’s degree in Education from the Universidad Pedagógica Experimental Libertador, and is finishing his Master’s degree in Percussion at Universidad Simón Bolívar.

Arturo visited Boston in the fall of 2018 as a Fellow in the State Department-sponsored program Young Leaders of Americas Initiative (YLAI). In Boston, he was a fellow at the Community Music Center of Boston.
