Learn about the U.S. infrastructure supporting intellectual property enforcement (public private, legal), including protection of indigenous or minority intellectual property
Understand the importance the U.S. attaches to the protection of intellectual property rights and the impact for small and medium-sized U.S. businesses
Examine U.S. IPR laws and enforcement systems, including the role federal, state, and local government agencies, academia, NGOs play in integrating IPR protection efforts
Learn about public campaigns for IPR protection and anti-counterfeiting measures
Explore U.S. processes for addressing IPR rights-holders’ complaints, especially in high-technology and motion picture/music environments. Understand how legal complaints are brought forward and defended by law firms

STRENGTHENING CYBER RESILIENCE IN CITIES AND REGIONAL COMMUNITIES

Learn about the actors of cyber resilience in the United States and best practices for how they approach resilience, assess risk, manage threats, and respond to incidents, with a focus on how they communicate and coordinate across governmental agencies, the private sector, and academia
Examine emerging technologies and threats, on-going capacity building and skills training, and ways to educate the public to raise awareness and message about risks and preparedness to businesses and the community
Become familiar with U.S. policy efforts at the international, federal, state, and municipal levels to secure an open, interoperable, secure, and reliable cyberspace and explore the efficacy of Internet security legislation, legal frameworks, and protections for privacy rights and civil liberties
