  • Explore the U.S. experience in developing local, state, and national laws and policies to address employment discrimination and unfair treatment or harassment in the workplace. 
  • Visit public and private sector entities with best practices in recruiting and supporting a diverse workforce including in hiring, retention, professional development, mentorship, and leadership   
  • Review a case study that highlights a real-life example of addressing unfair but entrenched discriminatory workplace behavior

Promoting Waste Management and Tackling Marine Debris for the Indo-Pacific

A Single Country Project for Cyprus

  • Examine efforts at the federal, state, and local levels to counter the dissemination of disinformation and misleading reporting
  • Illustrate how influencers use social media and new technologies to amplify messages, disseminate information, and connect with target audiences
  • Consider ways to foster a discerning audience of media consumers
  • Focus on approaches to build trust between the media, communities, and citizens

Maintaining Religious Tolerance

A Single Country Project for Indonesia

  • Empower religious minority activists/CSOs and organizations that monitor and address
    rights violations, provide legal aid, and foster trust in public institutions
  • Develop strategies for improving laws and norms supporting tolerance, diversity, and
    religious freedom to establish common values organizational structures that ensure
    tolerance, diversity, religious freedom and minority groups rights
  • Observe how diversity, inclusion, equity, and accessibility in a democratic society empowers
    the voices of minority and marginalized groups
  • Analyze insights on religious freedom practices and minority participation in the decision-
    making process
  • Explore successful allyship models among minority groups and create frameworks to
    protect them from discrimination and violence, collaborating in civil society and non-state
    actors

Providing Efficient and Transparent Government Services

A Single Country Project for Kyrgyzstan

  • Enhance understanding of ethical systems for accountability and transparency in government in the United States
  • Explore the role of citizens, traditional and new media, academia, and civil society in fostering transparency and accountability in government, including highlight the mechanisms that enable citizens to foster good governance, ethical standards, and accountability at the local, state, and federal levels
  • Become familiar with state-of-the-art e-governance efforts
  • Examine the effect of transparency on trade, investment, and economic development
  • Address international efforts to strengthen the integrity of governments

Transparency and Accountability in Government

A Single Country Project for Lebanon

  • Enhance understanding of the underlying principles of ethical systems for accountability in government and business in the United States;
  • Address international efforts to strengthen the integrity of governments and businesses;
  • Examine the effect of transparency on trade, investment, and economic development;
  • Explore the role of citizens, traditional and new media, academia, and civil society in fostering transparency and accountability in government; and
  • Highlight the mechanisms that enable citizens to foster good governance, ethical standards, and accountability at the local, state, and federal levels.

Modern Judicial Practices in the Newly Merged Districts

A Single Country Project for Pakistan

  • Convey how delivery of justice in efficient, predictable, and transparent ways is essential to developing public confidence in the state and a society with rule of law
  • Expose the group to ideas on how to establish a modern judicial system in the newly merged districts of KP province in Pakistan
  • Encourage participants to strengthen rule of law and increase law enforcement capacity
  • and gender inclusivity within the justice sector and law enforcement agencies

Combating Gender Based Violence

A Project for the Palestinian Territories

  • Examine various social service agencies involved in the prevention, treatment, and
    assistance to victims of domestic abuse/violence
  • Review domestic violence treatment programs from intake to reintegration in the
    community
  • Demonstrate public/private partnerships and cooperative efforts that aim to improve
    community welfare and prevent domestic abuse
  • Increase familiarity with various types of public advocacy campaigns

Capacity building within the ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC)

A Sub-Regional Project for ASEAN

  • Develop skills, knowledge, and capabilities to improve individual and organizational
    performance such as communication, decision-making, team collaboration, and strategic
    thinking
  • Learn the importance of and how to cultivate emotional intelligence, adaptability, and the
    ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Explore methods to increase adaptability, promote collaboration, and ensure the effective
    use of resources to guiding teams and organizations towards success

Countering Disinformation and Malign Influence

A Single Country Project for Syria

  • Examine U.S. policy at various levels of government to counter disinformation and
  • misleading reporting;
  • Introduce and provide broad exposure to the seriousness of the current threat posed by
    disinformation and deceptive news;
  • Explore ways to verify reliable sources of information and counter mis/disinformation;
    and
  • Discuss how influencers use social media and new technologies to amplify messages,
    disseminate information, and connect with target audiences.
