A Project for Morocco

  • Learn best practices of U.S. library and research institutions in collecting, preserving, and sharing resources, including historic documents
  • Understand how digitization is changing archives and document collection
  • See first-hand how U.S. libraries engage in local communities through outreach and educational programs
  • Explore mutually beneficial partnerships with U.S. academic and research institutions, particularly those with a demonstrated professional interest in Morocco
  • See how regional library systems provide community access to educational resources both digitally and in-person
  • Better understand the role public and university-affiliated libraries play in the American education system
  • Learn more about the model of the American research university and the role it plays in local, state, and national development

SUSTAINABLE CITIES

A Multi-Regional Project

  • Explore best practices in environmentally sound creative urban planning and the design and maintenance of infrastructure systems in urban areas
  • Examine the effect of natural and human-made disasters on cities
  • Consider methods of collaboration among national and international specialists as a means of furthering the resilience of cities

U.S. FOREIGN POLICY DECISION MAKING I

A Multi-Regional Project

  • Examine the process and key players in formulating, articulating and implementing foreign policy in the U.S. federal system
  • Review U.S. foreign policy priorities and trends in U.S. international relations
  • Explore the domestic political and economic forces that influence U.S. foreign policy decisions
  • Discuss how social media is transforming the practice and formation of foreign policy

WE AMERICAS PROGRAM: SUPPORTING WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

A Multi-Regional Project

  • Examine the role of government, the private sector, business and women’s networks, and non-governmental organizations in promoting the development of women-owned businesses
  • Explore the role of women-owned businesses in driving economic development, democratization and stabilization around the world
  • Highlight the social, economic and political factors that influence and encourage the development of private enterprise in the United States

U.S. ELECTIONS AND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT

A Project for Poland

  • Examine the U.S. political and electoral process, political activism, and campaigns, with some emphasis on the priorities and role of the younger generation in the current politicallandscape
  • Explore the influence of all types of media, NGOs, and other interest groups on political campaigns, elections, and the political process in U.S. democracy
  • Review perspectives on how civic and political engagement is fostered in the U.S., the importance of transparency in politics and the relationship between political leaders and the public
  • Explore the triggers that cause electoral violence and cause elections to fail. Emphasize how political leaders, civil society, and NGOs can mitigate electoral violence and the rhetoric that causes it
  • Review about election center and voting precinct preparation, election monitoring, vote tabulation, and security procedures
