Hard to say goodbye to summer? Don't worry: As the days grow shorter and cooler, our events calendar is growing and heating up!
Flagships return: up next, Saudi Arabia & Gorbachev
This month, our flagship Global Education series, Great Decisions and Chat & Chowder, resume. We're very pleased to kick off Great Decisions on September 26 in the beautiful new space at the Boston Public Library. Karen Elliott House, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and former managing editor at The Wall Street Journal, will discuss recent political developments in Saudi Arabia.
Break out the oyster crackers: Chat & Chowder is back on September 27. We'll hear from William Taubman, Professor Emeritus at Amherst College and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for his 2004 biography of Nikita Khrushchev, as he talks about his latest work, Gorbachev, in the beautiful and friendly office of McDermott, Will & Emery.
The Consuls Reception and International Citizen Award draw near
We're excited for our annual, can't-miss celebration of the New England consular corps, the 8th Annual WorldBoston Consuls Reception, on October 19th! And we're looking forward to hearing keynote remarks from Admiral James Stavridis, Dean of the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts and former NATO Supreme Allied Commander. For information on sponsoring the Consuls Reception click here.
We're pleased to announce that our outgoing Board Chair, James D. Kaufman, is the recipient of the 20th WorldBoston International Citizen Award. For more information on the Award, which will be presented immediately before the Consuls Reception, please click here.
Sponsorships for both events are still open, but don't delay - they close October 1! Individual tickets will go on sale soon.
