Film Screening: 'Under The Grey Sky'

In commemoration of the fourth anniversary of Belarus's fraudulent 2020 presidential elections and the protests that followed, the Davis Center together with Belarusians of Boston and New England will screen Mara Tamkovich's debut film, “Under The Grey Sky.” The film is based on the true story of Belarusian journalist Katsiaryna Andreyeva who was detained by riot police while broadcasting the peaceful protests and then sentenced to 8 years in prison for treason.

The Council on Foreign Relations has opened their applications for the prestigious International Affairs Fellowship. Designed for mid-career professionals, this fellowship includes a placement with a professional resource in-person for 12 months. Fellows should anticipate a $120000 stipend for the entire year, with no other employee benefits, including health insurance. Interested candidates can apply between August 15th and October 31st, 2024.

Through the Emerging Leaders Program at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs, you can deepen your understanding of global issues and cultivate the skills you need to step into your future as a global leader in Chicago. You should be between the ages of 35 and 45 and located in Chicagoland. Participants should expect to take part in sessions for the entire 2025 academic year. Financial responsibility depends on the profession of the applicant. Applications are due September 10th, 1PM ET.

The Alumni Resource Center (ARC) is an online career development hub for U.S. citizen ExchangeAlumni. ARC provides ExchangeAlumni with courses, trainings, and other resources to develop professional skills and abilities, market themselves, and explore careers in and outside of public service. The Alumni Resource Center is offering a new online course, Seize the Advantage: Understanding Non-Competitive Eligibility. This course will explore non-competitive eligibility and how you can leverage this unique opportunity to apply for federal jobs. The WACA Student Scholars Program offers 25 undergraduate students from Council communities the opportunity to visit think tanks, embassies, and universities and attend the WACA National Conference on a subsidized trip to Washington, DC. Applicants must be 18 or older, currently-enrolled undergraduate students, who are not repeat scholarship applicants. Each Council may nominate 1 student from the region that they serve. Applications close September 16th.
