National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y)

The U.S. Department of State’s NSLI-Y program is part of a U.S. government initiative to foster international cooperation by ensuring that Americans have the linguistic skills and cultural knowledge necessary to effectively communicate. NSLI-Y provides overseas critical language study opportunities to American youth through merit-based scholarships to spark a lifetime interest in critical foreign languages and cultures.   • The Journal of Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs: This quarterly journal is accepting submissions of features and essays, as well as online exclusive submissions to appear on their website on a rolling basis. Submit your piece here.
  • Realist Review Article Submission: This policy publication is accepting submissions from anyone interested in writing a commentary or analysis piece that expresses a perspective on policies or developments in international affairs and diplomacy. Submit your work here.
  • Harvard Thrēo Magazine: Submit your written work, videography, photography, or other artwork to this independent, global, and interdisciplinary online quarterly magazine by October 31 for their Winter 2024 issue. Learn more here.

The International Affairs Fellowship (IAF) programs enable U.S. citizens who are mid-career professionals with a demonstrated interest in foreign policy to gain experience in a new environment in the United States, Canada, Europe, India, Indonesia, or Japan, or at an international organization.
