Gather at the pier of the Charlestown Navy Yard to see the USS Constitution sail its traditional route around Boston. Traditionally, the Ship departs at 10:00 AM and returns between 1 pm – 2 PM. South Boston’s Castle Island is the location of a 21-gun salute around 11-11:30 AM. The public is welcome at this South Boston location where crowds traditionally gather.

On the eve of Boston’s biggest firework celebration, join the Boston Pops for a special concert, featuring guest artists The Mavericks & Kelli O’Hara. Immediately after the conclusion of the concert at 10:30 PM, watch the dazzling fireworks display over the Charles River.

Want the chance to be a part of WorldBoston’s Dinner Diplomacy program? Engage with international professionals of visiting delegations for a meal at your home. We have many opportunities this summer to get involved! Hosting visitors in an informal setting allows you to meet distinguished visitors from all over the world and learn more about their country, culture, and field of professional expertise. Dinner Diplomacy can take various forms, from brunch to afternoon tea to a sit-down dinner with small groups. Cato University is the Cato Institute’s premier educational event for college students, including undergraduate, masters, and doctorate students. Each program will explore classical liberal philosophy as a foundation for considering current policy issues. Benefits include room and board, 20+ hours of academic programming, networking opportunities, resources for further study, and a $500 travel stipend upon completion of the program. The deadline for applications is Monday, July 1, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. EDT.

On July 8th, Foreign Policy will host a free in-person and virtual conference on issues concerning NATO. As nations gather for the 75th anniversary of NATO, Foreign Policy will host programming that brings together voices from the areas of defense, government, intelligence, and the private sector to examine the alliance 75 years on and delve into the future of security across the Atlantic and beyond.

The Council on Foreign Relations has opened their applications for the prestigious International Affairs Fellowship. Designed for mid-career professionals, this fellowship includes a placement with a professional resource in-person for 12 months. Fellows should anticipate a $120000 stipend for the entire year, with no other employee benefits, including health insurance. Interested candidates can apply between August 15th and October 31st, 2024.

Calling all golfers! The Temple Israel Brotherhood is hosting their 16th Annual Combined Charities Golf Tournament on August 1st. The tournament is a great opportunity to play golf with friends while supporting a cause — proceeds from the tournament go to local charities and nonprofit organizations, including WorldBoston.

- Realist Review Article Submission: This policy publication is accepting submissions from anyone interested in writing a commentary or analysis piece that expresses a perspective on policies or developments in international affairs and diplomacy. Submit your work here.
