PREVENTING GENDER BASED VIOLENCE (GBV) AND SUPPORTING GBV VICTIMS

A Project for France

  • Review best practices for preventing and combatting gender-based violence across sectors such as government, civil society, and law enforcement
  • Discuss techniques to identify forms of gender-based abuse, report abuse, prosecute abusers, and provide assistance and protection to victims of gender-based violence
  • Improve understanding about how social developments, such as economic opportunities, education, entrepreneurship, political participation, and leadership, can serve as tools for combating violence
  • Examine education and outreach initiatives which focus on women’s legal rights, the responsibility of men and boys to avoid perpetuating gender-based violence and combating trafficking in persons

COMMUNITY STRATEGIES TO COUNTER VIOLENT EXTREMISM AND RACIALLY AND ETHNICALLY MOTIVATED VIOLENT EXTREMISM

A Project for Georgia

  • Introduce U.S. programs that counter violent extremism and racially and ethnically motivated violent extremism (REMVE), including those that exemplify the relationship between federal, state, and local entities
  • Explore the underlying conditions that fuel extremism –- political grievances, communal conflicts, social structures, and economic disparity –- and the emerging trends that creatively address them
  • Examine community-based efforts to counter REMVE-narratives and recruitment, build strong community resistance to violent extremism, and promote tolerance
  • Discuss how different sectors of American society work together to resist violent extremism, including government, academia, civil society, religious communities, and the private sector

PROMOTING ELECTORAL INTEGRITY

A Project for Jordan

  • Examine the U.S. political and electoral process, political activism, and campaigns, with a particular focus on the political priorities of the younger generation and the role of young Americans in shaping the future U.S. political landscape
  • Explore how individuals, community groups, and public and privately funded organizations influence the outcomes of elections
  • Identify the importance of community service in America and the correlation between a successful campaign and an actively engaged and widespread network of volunteers
  • Review political, social, and economic policy formulation processes, leadership strategies and skills, and communications techniques used to run an effective campaign

INCLUSIVE ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND DIGITAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

A Project for the Kyrgyz Republic

  • Examine models for promoting social entrepreneurship, including universities and schools/centers that teach social entrepreneurship; social enterprise accelerators and incubators; social impact investors; social enterprises; IT companies/digital entrepreneurs; and relevant government institutions
  • Provide an understanding of public and private incentives that drive tech innovation
  • Explore the role of corporate social responsibility programs in developing tech-focused social entrepreneurship

BEST PRACTICES IN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION

A Project for Uzbekistan

  • Enhance understanding of ethical systems and accountability in government and business in the United States, including oversight of public procurement and conflict of interests
  • Examine the statutory, judicial and regulatory frameworks for fighting corruption
  • Study the investigation and prosecution of fraud, abuse and corruption cases, including cases related to asset and income declaration
  • Introduce private and public activities intended to make governments more transparent
  • Observe public awareness programs about corruption and government ethics, including the role of the media, NGOs, and AI and IT to support analysis of data regarding corruption
